Inter-state U17 Boys CVPPL Kishtwar Football Cup concludes

KISHTWAR: The interstate Under 17 Boys CVPPL Kishtwar Football Cup 2023 concluded on Wednesday amid a thrilling final match and the launch of the Nasha Mukt Kishtwar Abhiyan in a magnificent manner.
Hosted by District Administration Kishtwar, District Youth Services and Sports Office and Chenab Valley Power Project Pvt. Ltd. CVPPL, the tournament ended with a splendid closing ceremony attended by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav as the Chief Guest. The final match was played between Sudeva Delhi FC and LoneStar Kashmir FC. Sudeva Delhi emerged victorious with a score of 6-1.
The Deputy Commissioner presented certificates of participation to all 132 players of six teams hailing from Kishtwar, Kashmir, Jammu, Uttarpradesh and Delhi. He also presented trophies and a cash award of Rs 50000 and Rs 25,000 to the winners and runners-up team, respectively.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the significance of sports in nurturing talent, promoting unity, and fostering a healthy and drug-free society. He expressed his appreciation for the remarkable performances displayed by the players during the tournament and commended the efforts of all the participants, officials, and organizers including the District Youth Services and Sports Department, besides CVPPL and others who contributed to the resounding success of the tournament.
Deputy Commissioner highlighted that Kishtwar Chowgan ground, with its moderate climate and ample space, has the potential to become an ideal venue for summer football matches. Moreover, he announced that the Kishtwar Football Cup will become an annual event following its maiden success.
The Deputy Commissioner extended his best wishes to the winning and runner-up teams. Additionally, he urged the home team Kishtwar Football Club to learn from their experience in this cup and emerge as a potential team and strive for better performances in the years to come. He encouraged the youth of Kishtwar to take a keen interest in football, emphasizing that the game offers equal opportunities for excellence and career development.
Among the dignitaries present at the event were ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal, ASP Kishtwar Rajinder Singh, DySP Vishal Singh, HOP CVPPL Ramesh Mukhiya, DYSSO Kharati Lal Sharma, DSWO Zubair Ahmed, and the staff of DYSSO.
The presence of prominent individuals and project authorities, including HOP Keru HEPP Ramesh Ojha, GM Keru R. P. Singh, Rishi Sharma (Project Manager of Patel Engineering Ltd), GM Mechanical Sudhir Kumar, AGM AFCON Naseer Masoodi, GM Patel Dool Anant Thambare, HOP Karthaie Rajinder Kumar, further added to the event’s success.
A captivating awareness activity took place during the closing ceremony, wherein students from Al-Hilal Educational Institute and Mother’s Pride School under the guidance of Javed Iqbal Kripak participated in the mesmerising formation of “Nasha Mukt Kishtwar” activity in the Chowgan ground during the programme.
The pledge for Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan was also administered during the event, reaffirming the commitment to a drug-free India.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar also felicitated the Football team of Kishtwar that had earlier participated in the Inter-District U19 Divisional Level Football Tournament held in Jammu.
Under the initiative of CVPPL Kishtwar Football Cup,District Administration Kishtwar aims to create a nurturing environment for youth, empowering them to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives besides fostering a spirit of sportsmanship.
