KATHUA: Inter School District Level Competitions of District Kathua Being organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports Kathua in the disciplines of hockey, football and judo under-19 yrs boys and girls began at difference venues, here on Tuesday.
The competitions are being organised under the supervision of District Sports Officer Subash Chander Bhardwaj. A total of 160 players from 12 schools of six zones of district participated in today’s events.
Earlier, the competitions were declared open by the Chief Guest, Subash Chander Bhardwaj, District Sports Officer at Sports Stadium Kathua and St. Xavier Convent School Hatli.
The competitions were officiated by Avnesh Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Sanjeev Singh, Parveen Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Pankaj Spolia, Harvinder Singh and Kulbushan Singh.
ZPEOs Sukesh Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Pardeep Singh, Rajesh Kumar and Activity Incharges Mohan Lal Dub were also present on the occasion.
A total of 160 players of 12 schools of 6 zones of District participated at said three venues.

JUDO BOYS: Below 45 Kg: Mohit Kumar of GHSS Marheen 1st, Akhil Slaria GHSS Barwal 2nd; 50 Kg: Anirudh Singh of KV Lakhanpur 1st. 55 Kg: Mohd Ali of GHSS Kathera 1st; 60 Kg: Bhag Hussain of GHSS Marheen 1st and Sawaran Singh of same school 2nd; 65 Kg: Manzoor Hussain of GHSS Kathera 1st and Samply Kumar of GHSS Kirian 2nd; 71 Kg: Rajan Singh Saini of GHSS Nagri 1st; above 71 Kg: Vishawjeet Singh of RSJN Kathua 1st.
GIRLS: Below 36 Kg: Arti Devi of GHSS Marheen 1st; 43 Kg: Ritika Devi of GHSS Kirian 1st; Above 61 Kg: Anmol Devi of GHSS Marheen 1st.
Hockey: Atul Krishan of BVM Hiranagar, Vikram and Sourav Verma of GHSS Hiranagar performed well during the competitions whereas in football, tricks and tactics of Ankit Singh of DPS Rajbagh and Jitender Singh of DS Heritage Bharwal were appreciated. Similarly, the approaches of Tarun Mansotra dominated the opponents in handball.
