UDHAMPUR: An Inter- Ministerial Team of Governmnet of India on Sunday visited landslide hit Saddal village of Udhampur District to assess the damages caused to government infrastructure, private property and loss of human lives.
Headed by Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Gopal Reddy, the team comprised of Director Monitoring in Central Works Commission, Brek Tripathi, Assistant Director and Aditya Parkash, Narendra Kumar, Superintending Engineer in the same Commission, A.K Rajput, Director Central Electricity Board, Ministry of Power, B.L Meena, Assistant Director, Expenditure Monitoring in Ministry of Finance, Parkash Bhardwaj, Under Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
The Inter- Ministerial Team along with DDC conducted aerial survey of flood and landslide affected areas in Udhampur District to assess the situation there.
The team expressed sympathies with the kin of those who lost their family members in the Saddal landslide tragedy. They said that the government stands with them in this hour of grief and sorrow and assured all possible help .
Interacting with the affected families, the team members assured them that the government and administration would take all necessary measures for their rehabilitation.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner, Yasha Mudgal apprised the visiting team about the restoration and relief measures taken by the district administration to save the lives, property and evacuate people from the flood and landslide areas.
Tehsildar Moungri, Raju Sambyal, senior officers, officials of Revenue Department and prominent persons of the area were also present on the occasion.
