Inter House T20 Cricket Tournament concludes Vivekanand House wins trophy

JAMMU: Vivekanand House on Thursday lifted the Inter-house Twenty20 Cricket Tournament trophy of GGM Science College played at Hostel Ground, here.
Earlier, in the final played on Thursday, Vivekanand House defeated Ashoka House by 25 runs. Rajesh Chauhan remained top scorer with 22 runs coming off 18 deliveries and also took one wicket. Anuj made 21 runs off 18 balls. In reply, Ashoka House made 140 runs in 20 overs, Deeraj made 25 run in 29 balls while Abhishek Bhau added 26 runs to the total. Kamal Singh took three wickets which led the Vivekanand House to win the match by 25 runs.
Rajesh Chauhan was declared the Man of the Match. Vivek Singh Rathore was declared the best batsman of the tournament who made the highest 96 runs. Kamal Singh remained the best bowler who took six wickets in the tournament and Man of the Series award was given to Krishan Kant who made 94 runs and got three wickets in the tournament. Today’s match was officiated by Arpan and Vipan as Umpires.
In the valedictory ceremony, Chief Guest, Jahangir Mir, Director General Youth Services and Sports and Guest of Honour, Dr. Ajeet Angral, Principal, GGM Science College, gave away medals, memento and prizes among the winner, runner up teams and individuals.
Mir announced that Department of Youth Services and Sports will help the institution in organising more such activities under the leadership of Dr Vinod Bakshi, Physical Director of the College.
Prof. Angral advised the players to take maximum benefit from various sports activities being organised by the college and asked the girl students for their participation in different games. He also requested the Chief Guest for extending the helping hand for the promotion of sports activities in the college. Principal also appreciated the members of the Organising Committee which include Prof. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Rajinder Singh, Prof. Neeraj Sharma, (Staff Secretary), Prof. Mohd. Sadiq , Prof. Dinesh Jasrotia and Prof. Kuldeep Raj.
