RAJOURI: Eleven Star Rajouri and Mendhar Warriors won their respective matches in the Inter District Ace of Spades T 20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Rajouri Sports Committee in coordination with the army Kheora Stadium, here on Monday.
In the first match of the day, Eleven Star Rajouri outplayed Nowshera Tigers by 69 runs. Batting first, with the brilliant Kaleem Mirza knock of unbeaten 93 runs off 63 balls Eleven Star Rajouri set a target of 203 for the loss of six wickets. In reply, Nowhera Tigers failed to chase the target and managed to score 134 for the loss of eight wickets in stipulated 20 overs. For the all round performance Kaleem Mirza was declared Man of the Match. He also grabbed two wickets. In another match, Mendhar Warriors outplayed Rising Peer Panjal by nine runs in super over.
Earlier, both the teams scored 126 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, thus taking the match to super-over, wherein Mendhar Warriors prevailed over their rivals.
Batting first, Rising Peer Panjal scored 126 runs for the loss of seven wickets which in reply Mendhar Warriors also scored 109 runs for the loss of seven wickets. As the match ended in a tie, the issue was resolved through Super Over, according to organizer. In Super Over, Mendhar Warriors defeated Rising Peer Panjal by nine runs. Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Chief Guest Station Commander in the presence of civil dignitaries, locals and senior army officers. The Chief Guest interacted with the players, team managers, members of the organising committee apart from the umpires and commentators and motivated them to perform to their level best.
