POONCH: Inter-district division level boxing competition, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Poonch commenced at Poonch on Tuesday.
The competition is being held under the guidance of Director Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K Subash Chander Chibber, Deputy Director Central Jatinder Mishra and Joint Director YSS Suram Chand Sharma.
In all, 130 girls and boys of under 14 ,17 and 19 age group from six districts of Jammu Division took part in the competition held under the supervision of Mohd Qasim District Youth Services and Sports Officer Poonch.
The competition was declared open by the Chief Guest, Yasin Mohammad Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Poonch. He gave his best wishes to all the participants and advised them to play game with the true spirit of sportsmanship. He also congratulated Department of Youth Services and Sports for giving excellent platform to the youth by organising such events in district Poonch.
Earlier, the gathering was welcome by DYSSO Poonch Mohd Qasim, who also gave his best wishes to all the participants.
Today’s bouts were held under the technical supervision of Musthaq Ahmed JKSC Boxing coach, Dalbir Singh Jamwal PET Samba, William Kapoor PET Youth Hostel Nagrota, Rajinder Singh PET, Sandeep Singh Chib ReK District Ramban, Parampreet Singh Senior Boxer, Gourav Sharma Senior Boxer and Rohit Sharma Khelo India Poonch Centre Boxing Instructor.
The winners of this competition will represent Jammu Division in UT level boxing competition
