JAMMU: The Inter-Departmental Tournaments for the session 2023-24 commenced on Tuesday at Directorate of Sports of Physical Education organized by Chairman, Campus Sports Committee University of Jammu.
Prof. Yashpal Sharma, Rector, Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest of the opening matches, who introduction with both the team players before the start of the game.
Volleyball: Economic Department beat Udhampur Campus by 2-0 (25-7 & 25-13); SHTM department beat Geology Department by 2-0 (25-13 & 25-18); Sociology Department beat Physics Department by 2-0 (25-13 & 25-18); Sociology Department beat Urdu Department by 2-1 (15-07, 2-15 & 15-18); Physical Education Department beat Commerce Department by 2-0 (25-11 & 25-03).
Cricket: Physical Education Department beat ICCR & HRM by 10 wickets; Chemistry Department beat English Department by 21 runs.
The tournaments were organized under the supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba Chairman, Campus Sports Committee University of Jammu.
The matches were officiated by Raj Kumar Bakshi, Vikas Karlopia, Ashok Singh, Vijay Kumar, Manu Singh Pawar, Geetanjali, Vijay Raina, Ishima and Yogesh Dutt.
