JAMMU: Department of History on Wednesday registered a comfortable nine wickets win over Department of EVS in the men’s cricket event of the ongoing inter-department sports meet of University of Jammu on the campus ground, here.
Batting first, EVS Department made 91 runs for nine in 15 overs game. Naman and Ranjan Sharma were top scorers with 46 and 20 runs respectively.
For History, Masood bagged three wickets, Prince took two and Vikas and Tahir shared apiece.
Later, Department of History chased the total making 95 runs in 11.5 overs for one wicket. Tahir played a fine inning of 53 runs followed by Rajeev and Imran, who made 22 and six runs respectively. For EVS Department, Ranjan Sharma picked a wicket.
In another match of the day, Department of Library and Information Science got walkover against Statistics Department
The matches were played under the direct supervision of Prof. Dhian S. Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Today’s matches were officiated by Rahul Sharma, Mukesh Sharma, Raj Kumar Bakshi and Raman Kumar.
