JAMMU: Department of Chemistry on Tuesday registered a comfortable seven wickets victory over Department of Psychology in the men’s cricket event of the ongoing inter-department sports meet of University of Jammu on the campus ground, here.
Batting first, Psychology made 109 runs for six in 12 overs game. Darvinder and Afaq were top scorers with 38 and 28 runs respectively while Rajinder added 18 runs. For Chemistry, Mukesh bagged two wickets.
Later, Department of Chemistry chased the total making 112 runs in 11.3 overs for three wickets. Mukesh Mundial made highest 18-ball 29 runs. Yawar and Mukesh added 20 runs each. For Psychology, Dhruv, Raja Hussain and Wasim Malik shared apiece each.
In another match of the day, Department of Political Sciences trounced MCA Department by seven wickets in a low scoring match. Batting first, MCA could make 66 runs in 12 overs which in reply, Political Science chased in 9.2 overs making 70 runs.
