Inter-college Cricket Tournament Science College, GDC Kishtwar win ties

JAMMU: GGM Science College and Government Degree College (GDC) Kishtwar won their respective matches in the ongoing Inter-college Cricket Tournament being played at University of Jammu Cricket Ground, here on Monday. In the first match played today, GGM Science College trounced GDC Samba by 47 runs. Batting first after winning the toss, Science College scored 142 runs (including 20 extras) for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Ankush Sharma smashed brilliant 76-run knock with the help of ten boundaries and two sixes in 55 balls while Manik added 21 runs off 16 balls by hitting three boundaries. For GDC Samba, Anup picked three wickets while Shubham took two and Sachin and Rishav shared apiece each. In reply, GDC Samba was bundled out at 95 runs. Happy was the top scorer with 23 runs while Shubham made 22 and Abhishek, Vinod and Vishal added 10 runs each to the total. For Science College, Sant Baksh grabbed three wickets while Hitesh and Pawan shared two and Vikram took one wicket.
In another match, GDC Kishtwar outplayed Law School, JU by 22 runs.
GDC Kishtwar, batting first, set a target of 130 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Henan made 41 runs by hitting five boundaries while Daud made 24 runs off 17 balls and Babar (26) and Burhan (13) were other scorers. For Law School, Shahrukh picked two wickets while Sohail, Gourav and Vijender shared apiece each.
In reply, Law School failed to chase the target and manage to score 108 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Jatin (27), Shahrukh (14) and Ranjeet (13) runs were the main scorers. For GDC Kishtwar, Burhan took three wickets whereas Henan, Daud, Aaqib and Nitin shared one each.
Today’s matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Vijay Kumar, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Vinod, Saleem-ur-Rehman and Amit Gupta.
