JAMMU: Government College for Women (GCW) Parade, GDC Samba won their respective matches to move into the quarterfinals of the ongoing inter-college competitions of University of Jammu, organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, on the campus grounds, here on Tuesday.
Four other teams also qualified for the last eight stages of the competition on getting walkovers. Now, the quarterfinals have been scheduled for tomorrow.
The Results: Pre-quarterfinals: GCW Parade beat GDC Poonch 2-0 (25 – 12, 25 – 09); GDC Samba defeated GDC Kathua 2-0 (25-13, 25-12); GDC Ramnagar got walkover SPMR College of Commerce; PG Departments trounced GDC Udhampur; GCW Gandhi Nagar blanked College of Education.
Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel including Amit Sharma, Ramesh Singh Jasrotia, Mulk Raj Khajuria, Bneet Sharma, Rohani Devi, Bhavana Sharma and Priya Choudhary.
KABADDI: Meanwhile, in women’s kabaddi competition, GCW Gandhi Nagar, GWC Udhampur and GDC Kathua won their respective matches to move into the next round.
The Results: GCW Gandhi Nagar beat GDC Ram Nagar 24-04; GDC Kathua defeated PG Department 37-31; GWC Udhampur blanked GCW Kathua 29-17.
Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel comprising Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Rakesh Kumar, Ankush Chib, Ankush Gupta, Vishal Jamwal, Keshav Singh, Amandeep Singh, Harpreet Singh and Raki Singh.
