POONCH: The poor PDD Poonch in the absence of funds and infrastructure is forced to use boots and Chappals as insulators for Service Line conductors on the electricity poles in Shanker Mohalla at the entry point of Poonch after crossing Sher-i-Kashmir Bridge.
Number of visitors from Jammu and other places cut a joke with their friends and relatives praising Poonch town for being so charming that its caretakers have prominently displayed a ‘Nazar Battu’ perhaps rightly at the entry place of Poonch town in Mohalla Shankar Nagar after crossing the Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohd Abdullah Bridge.
Several residents of Mohalla Shankar ‘apprehending risk because of short circuit’ have urged the PDD to use proper ceramic insulators for safety. Prominent locals including Narinder Kumar shopkeeper, Mohd Faiz, Sajjad Bhat, Rameek Singh, Romesh Kumar and Shamim Bhat made a formal request with the PDD to have Chappals immediately replaced by proper insulators.
