Initiate dialogue with KP’s for resettlement in Valley: Chrungoo

JAMMU: Panun Kashmir observed 25th anniversary of the Margdarshan Resolution here on Wednesday.
On the occasion, BJP President and MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma was the Chief Guest while MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta was the Guest of Honour. President of Panun Kashmir, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo presided over. Rajkumar Nehru, Vice Chancellor of Vishwakarma University, Haryana was the special guest.
The Margdarshan resolution was read by the National Spokesperson of PK, Virender Raina. The resolution served as a beacon of light to the displaced community in its struggle for survival in exile. The resolution for the first time espoused the geopolitical aspirations of the Kashmiri Pandit community in the form of a separate homeland in Kashmir.
On the occasion, nine prominent personalities from various walks of life who have distinguished themselves in the public field were honoured with a Saropa namely Dr. A.N Pandit, D.N Kissu, B.N Khaar, Sardar Prem Singh, Chand Bhat, Prof. Virender Rawal, Pamposh Kaul, Robin Saproo and Kanwal Peshin. They were also presented with a copy of Neelmatapurana, the oldest treatise on the socio-cultural life in Kashmir.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo President, PK presented the keynote address and while speaking on the occasion said that Homeland is the only political solution of all the ills that the displaced community of Kashmiri Pandits is suffering from.
Chrungoo asked the Government of India to initiate a structured dialogue with the representative of the Pandits of Kashmir for their resettlement in the Valley of Kashmir. He demanded that the government needs to take a number of confidence building measures which included implementation of employment package in full, compensation to the over-aged youth, salary and stay of package employees, passage of Temples and Shrines Bill and sanction of leave encashment on superannuation to displaced employees.
MLA Rajesh Gupta extended his full support to the KP community and complimented them for remaining steadfast to their core values in exile.
MLA Sat Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, said that the KP community has strengthened the nationalist cause and Panun Kashmir has been in the forefront in its endeavor. “The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fully conscious of the sufferings of the KPs and government would do everything possible to mitigate their sufferings, he said, adding that in the days to come the issue of the Temples Bill would also be looked into seriously. Raj Nehru gave a detail of the achievements of the KPs in exile.
Noted poet, Shaad recited a wonderful poem on the occasion while Upinder Kaul presented vote of thanks.
