JAMMU: Former Minister and senior National Conference leader, Ajay Sadhotra emphasised the need of initiating dialogue with all stakeholders for everlasting peace in the State.
While addressing the meeting in Dhaterayal here on Sunday, Sadhotra said National Conference has always been advocating for dialogue.
“Peace is the foremost necessity for the overall development of the State and National Conference in power or out of power has always advocated the need of political solution for the Kashmir problem,” he added.
“PDP-BJP at the time of formation of Coalition Government in 2015 in their Agenda of Alliance have assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that dialogue shall be held for political solution in the State with all stakeholders but it is unfortunate that power has gone to their heads and they have thrown the Agenda of Alliance in the dustbin in order to remain in power, he said, adding that PDP-BJP is responsible for present situation in the State causing death and destruction.
“It is very unfortunate that for the last five months, Kashmir is shut down and the BJP led Central Government is not ready for dialogue,” he said, demanded immediate dialogue with all stakeholders for everlasting peace in the State.
“The need of the hour is to tackle the present situation of J and K by a statesman like Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The initiatives taken by former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee are still in minds and hearts of the people of State,” he added.
Sadhotra said the walkout of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti from the Cabinet meeting is unprecedented and it shows that the PDP-BJP has no concern for the problems of the common people and they are struggling for their survival in power. During the public meeting, number of youths from PDP and BJP joined the party fold. Sadhotra welcomed the new young entrants in the party and hoped that their joinings to the party will strengthen the hands of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah. Those who joined the party fold include Vipan Kumar, Balwinder Kumar, Davinder Kumar, Kalidass, Anil Kumar, Shammi, Pinta, Ravi Kumar, Gourav, Balwinder, Rahul, Parveen Puran Chand and Mohan Lal Lambardar.
