JAMMU: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) criticised the State Government led by Mehbooba Mufti is working against the State OBCs following the footsteps of BJP Government since the inception of the PDP-BJP Government in the State. “The National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha had been referred to Parliamentary Committee and recently the Bill was taken up in Rajya Sabha on July 31 2017. The 123rd Amendment Bill of 2017 is being said to give constitutional status to NCBC with a Chairman, Vice-Chairman and two members. But the Opposition leader Gulam Nabi Azad asked the government to induct five members into the Amended NCBC Bill with one member from Minority Community and one woman member,” said Prof Kali Dass, General Secretary AIBCU at a meeting held here on Friday.
Dass demanded that all members of NCBC including the Chairman and Vice-Chairman should be from the OBC categories. “Inducting member from minority community and a woman member is a treacherous move of the Congress through Gulam Nabi Azad who is adding fuel to the fire which the Modi government has ignited to weaken the NCBC aiming to deprive the constitutional rights of the OBCs of the country,” he added.
Dass warned the government to mend its ways of working or be ready to face the consequences.
