SAMBA: World Heritage Week celebrations organised by Indian National Trust for Art, Culture and Heritage (INTACH) Jammu Chapter concluded with two-day teachers training workshop on heritage and art conservation here.
Over 70 teachers from government primary and secondary schools of Samba District participated in the workshop and also participated in group activity at Uttar Behni Temple during the site visit.
In the two days workshop, the teachers were trained on how to sensitise the school children’s for conservation and preservation of the national heritage.
Director Command Area, Hemant Sharma who was the Chief Guest and Principal-Director INTACH, Purnima Dutt distributed certificates among the teachers.
Prof. Sudhir Singh and Prof Anita Billowria educated the teachers on importance of culture in modern times. Dr. Sonia Jasrotia coordinated the workshop and explained about Buddhist Culture in Jammu and Kashmir.
S.M Sahni, Convenor INTACH Jammu Chapter, Prof. Anita Billoria Co-Convenor INTACH Jammu Chapter, Dr. Kavita Suri, Associate Professor Department of Lifelong Learning, Dr. Sonia Jasrotia Coordinator INTACH Samba-Kathua Districts and Assistant Professor, Department of Buddhist Studies, Abhimanyu Dev Singh jointly organised the workshop.
