JAMMU: The Indian volleyball team produced a fine display to begin their campaign on a winning note in the 4th AVC Women Challenger Cup 2023, organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Indonesian Volleyball Federation (PBVSI) in Tridharma Sports Hall, Gresik, East Java, Indonesia.
Led by Nirmal Tanwar, India beat Australia 3-1 (13-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-14).
The Australia took control in the first set against India to effortlessly win 25-13. Conceding one set, India upped their tempo to make amends for the loss in the first set played well up to their standard to hold the rivals off with their good attacks and solid blocks to clinch the second set 25-16.
The third set was still dominated by the Indians, who led from start to finish in a set 25-22 while India finished the match by winning fourth set by 25-14.
Indian Team Captain Nirmal Tanwar while other members of the team have performed to their fullest potential for this incredible performance. The win was possible by the inspirational coaching of Head Coach, Chauhan Pritam Singh, Assistant Coach, Paruchuri Radhika, Roy Neel Kamal Manager, Roy Neel Kamal and Referee, Arunachalam T.V.

Meanwhile, Patron-in-Chief, Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Raj Daluja; President, Sidharth Daluja; Chief Executive Officer, Kuldeep Magotra; General, Secretary, V K Magotra; Treasurer, R C Sharma; Executive Vice President, H S Gill, Joint Secretary Mohd Tariq and other office bearers of VAJK also congratulated all players and officials for their performance in the match wished best of luck for future matches.
