India Foundation distributes traditional dresses as school uniforms

KARGIL: India Foundation, Delhi Based Non Government Organization (NGO), on Sunday distributed traditional dresses as winter uniform among the students of Government Middle School Gongma Minjee to preserve the cultural identity of the people of Kargil which was influenced by the western and other cultures.
The dresses were distributed by the Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil Haji Hanifa himself, with thanks and appreciation of the initiative by India Foundation.
Haji Hanifa, urged the Foundation to come up with new such initiatives for the preservation of Culture and Heritage of this frontier district.
Haji Hanifa Jan also appreciated the efforts of the local youth and First NSD Graduate from the village for his efforts and endeavors to organise this programme and approaching the International Level NGO India Foundation for this prestigious initiative.
The Headmaster of the School, Shamim Ahmad presented vote of thanks and thanked the NGO as well as Kacho Ahmad Khan for starting the initiative from his school.
On this occasion villagers along with ZEO Kargil and VEC member Ghulam Mehdi Sheikh were also present.
