VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and JKPCC General Secretary Manjit Singh on Wednesday criticised BJP government for hike in petrol, diesel and service tax which would badly affect the poor and middle class people.
Former minister was holding a monthly meeting of Congress workers in Vijaypur where the workers projected their demands while expressing concern over the hike in petrol and diesel prices.
Speaking before the party workers, Manjit Singh said that already the prices of eatables had increased which made middle class helpless.
“BJP has been exposed for its hollow promises of ‘Achhe Din’ which they shouted during the parliamentary elections. We are unable to understand for whom the good days have been brought by the Modi Government,” alleged Singh.
He said that people have been trapped in false promises but were betrayed by the BJP government led by Narindra Modi. “Anger has been brewing among the people for increase in essential commodities with the increase in service tax. This is the highest rate of service tax and in coming days, everything would be costly,” he further added.
Meanwhile, expressing strong resentment over Union Government and its alliances District Congress President Former MLC Subash Gupta said that recently State Government presented anti-people budget and on the other side high increase in the prices of petroleum products has left poor high and dry. Gupta said these words while chairing the monthly meeting of the party representatives and activists.
