IMS conducts industrial visit to United Phosphorous

JAMMU: The Institute of Management Science (IMS) organised an industrial visit of its BBA students to United Phosphorous Limited (UPL), Samba.
UPL is India based MNC which has 27 plants across the world with 10 plants in India.
It is the largest pesticide manufacturer in Asia and at Samba plant they manufacture fungicide, herbicide and insecticide.
The visit started with the initial round of briefing by Sanjeev Mishra HR Manager and Ramgopal Sharma Head Production, on safety measures, plant layout from production, Quality Control Department (QCD) to logistics, its achievements and vision in current economic scenario.
In the interactive session with officials, which included Production Head and Head Safety In-charge, it was an open discussion where the required employability skills and prospects of placement of students were explored.
Students were taken to different parts of the plant and briefed about different functioning and methodologies being used in the entire process of manufacturing fungicide, herbicide and insecticide, including the packaging and labeling.
