Impressive Shiv Baraat taken out ahead of Maha Shivratri

JAMMU: An impressive Shoba Yatra on the eve of Maha Shivratri was taken out in Jammu city, with religious fervour and gaiety.
The religious procession, which commenced from the Ranbireshwar Temple, was organised by Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committee along with Jammu and Kashmir Dharamarth Trust.
The Shobha Yatra, which started at 3:30 in the afternoon from Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir, passed through main Bazaars viz. City Chowk, Raghunath Bazaar, Residency Road, Rajinder Bazaar, Kanak Mandi, Old Hospital Road, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazaar, Chowk Chabutra, Panjthirthi, Pacca Danga, Parade Chowk and finally culminated at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple.
Prior to departure of Shiv Baraat, Pooja of Lord Shiva was performed by Member Legislative Council (MLC) as also Trustee J and K Dharmarth Trust, Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh, MLA Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta MLA Jammu West, Satpal Sharma, former Minister of State for Education, Priya Sethi, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, Advocate Avinav and Advocate M K Bhardwaj.
Shobha Yatra started with a Chariot of Lord Shiva followed by various Jhankis of religious and social organisations viz Peer Kho Mandir, Bawe Wala Mandir, Hudh Mata Committee Jammu Province, Newspaper Vendor Association, Dewan Mandir Natak Samaj, Dewan Mandir Natak Samaj Mandli, Radha Krishan Temple Panjthirthi, Nat Manch, Trinetra Dhari Shiv Shamboo Seva Dal Parade and Bajrangi Akhara.
Various traders, religious organisations of old city had organised Bhandaras at various places for the devotees enroute the Yatra.
Mahant of the Temple, Swami Shri 108 Rishi Ban, Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust Shashi Khajuria along with staff members took part in Shobha Yatra and extended heartiest Maha Shivratri wishes to Jammuites.
All the members of SRMWC, Onkar Sharma ( Nandi Ji) President, Rajkumar Gupta Vice- President, Amit Gupta Vice-President, Rajinder Vijay Magotra Vice President, Anubhav Suri Advisor, Mandeep Sharma Joint Secretary, Deepak Sharma Press and Publicity Secretary, Dr. Sunny Gupta General Secretary, Advocate Jyoti Sarup Misra Spokesperson and Legal Advisor, Rekha Sharma President Women Wing, Dolly Abrol Vice President Women Wing, Mohan Sharma Cashier, Surinder Bhagat Secretary, Kuldeep Singh, Bhushan, Rajesh Sharma, Vishal, Madan Lal, Advocate Kapil Sharma, Rameshwar Sharma and others took part in the Shoba Yatra and extended Shivratri greetings to the locals.
Administration had made elaborate arrangements for the success of Shobha Yatra.
