Implement Seventh Pay Commission uniformly in all states: NMC

 STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri urged upon the Prime Minister that since the Seventh Pay Commission report is likely to be notified any time, a conclave of the all Chief Ministers of the states be called to discuss the implementation of the commission recommendations in all the states simultaneously and uniformly.
Addressing a largely attended NMC workers meet here, Shastri said that as per past experience the employees of the State Government and pensioners resort to agitation path to get Central Pay Commission report implemented in respective states. “This not only creates bad taste but involves more wastage of time and energy of salaried class,” he said.
While appreciating Prime Minister for his progressive and pro working class policies, Shastri also hailed the announcement of the minimum wages of daily rated workers to Rs 10,000 per month and emphasised the need to notify this decision of the Central Government immediately for all states and union territories.
Shastri urged him to fulfill this long pending commitment as the previous governments of the State could also not regularise the daily rated workers for their legitimate demand though governments of the time promised the same but did not implement. NMC Chief further demanded total exemption of dearness allowance from the ambit of income tax as DA is directly linked with price hike and inflation but it was strange that the income tax is also imposed on the increase of the salaries because of DA and appealed Modi to reconsider this anti salaried class practice. The income tax exemption limit should be raised to Rs 5 lakh, he said. Several resolutions were adopted in the meeting which include early release of all pending wages of daily rated workers working in PWD, Irrigation and Flood Control Department etc, removal of issue of order for removing all pay anomalies of clerical cadre under SRO 93, enhancing medical allowance to Rs. 1,000 per month beside including Jammu and Srinagar cities in the list of smart cities.
Among others who were also spoke on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S. Jamwal, Sunil Kochhar, Satinder Kumar, Tarsem, Baldev, Darshan Bawa, Suraj Parkash, Jai Pal, Subash Sharma, Gopal Bhagat and many others.
