JAMMU: Home Guards of the State on Saturday held a protest under the banner of All J and K Home Guard Welfare Association (AJKHGWA) accusing the authorities for their slackness in implementing the Supreme Court (SC) order in their favour.
A large number of Home Guards led by Kamla Sharma, President of the Association gathering here on Saturday and raised anti-government slogans.
Kamla accused the authorities for their slackness in implementing the Supreme Court order dated 11th March, 2015 for extending benefits to the Home Guards at par with police constables serving in respective states. She made an appeal to all members of Legislative Assembly and ministers for taking up the issue in the budget session. She also appealed to the Chief Minister for extending benefits to the Home Guards as per Supreme Court directions.
