‘Illegal Rehris, Khokhas contributing to health hazards’

STATE TIMES NEWS
SAMBA: The Executive Committee members of Association of Industries IGC SIDCO (Regd.) met under the president-ship of Vijay Aggarwal. The committee expressed concern over the functioning of illegal Khokhas and Rehris in IGC SIDCO Samba as unhygienic food and other eatables are being eaten by workers and other passer bys. These Rehris not only block roads but also waste from them is thrown in drains. This normally blocks the drains and the waste water overflows resulting in water logging at various places as there is no proper outlet and drainage.
It was also decided to approach SIDCO, Industries Minister for common effluent treatment plant and also to demand for secure landfill for hazardous waste. It was also decided to go ahead for construction for Office of Association of Industries at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by Vijay Aggarwal (President), Raman Jolly (Vice President), Retash Mahajan(General Secretary), Rohit Saroha (Treasurer), Vinay Sharma (Berger Paints), Anil Verma and Ramesh Bhardwaj (Ind Swift Ltd), Arjun Malhotra and Sachin Verma (Himalayan Minerals).
