IIT-J hosts Indo-Taiwan Bilateral Workshop on cyber security

JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu, in collaboration with India Taipei Association, Taipei, and Taipei Economic and Culture Centre, New Delhi, on Monday organized the Indo-Taiwan Bilateral Workshop at IIT’s Jagti campus. The event aimed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to safeguard their organizations’ digital assets in the face of evolving cybersecurity threats.
The workshop focused on raising awareness about the latest cybersecurity threats and challenges, emphasizing the role of AI in cyber threat mitigation. It also aimed to strengthen the collaborative research relationship between India and Taiwan, educate participants about best practices and preventive measures in cyber security, and enhance their understanding about cybersecurity technologies and techniques. Diverse participants, including IT professionals, cybers ecurity practitioners, and students, attended the workshop, which featured a series of informative sessions and interactive discussions on key cybersecurity topics. Prof. Manoj S Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu, discussed the information security awareness program supported by Govt. of India. Furthermore, renowned cyber security experts from several institutes, including IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIIT Delhi, CDAC, National Chung Cheng University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and National Cheng Kung University, delivered insightful thoughts on cyber-security issues and challenges. The experts discussed several topics such as AI for Cyber security, Threat Detection, Malware Analysis, Trustworthy AI, AI and 5G/6G Security, and Disinformation.
The workshop provided ample networking opportunities for participants to interact with international experts, share experiences, and establish valuable professional connections. This facilitated the exchange of best practices and ideas among attendees.
The workshop achieved its primary objectives successfully, and parallelly, proved to be a valuable platform for participants to gain knowledge, exchange ideas, and strengthen their cyber security capabilities. Attendees expressed their appreciation for the well-structured sessions and expert guidance, highlighting the success of the event. Finally, the event ended with a MoU signing between IIT Jammu and National Chung Cheng University for research collaborations and vote of thanks.
