IIM Jammu inaugurates Second batch of Nurturing Future Leadership Program

JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu kicked off the second batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program under the umbrella of “The Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme” with an inaugural session held at its permanent campus in Jagti on Monday. This leadership training initiative aims to develop the leadership skills of educators across various levels and foster a pool of potential leaders for future generations. The program, fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, will run from June 10th to 14th, 2024, and will be conducted by the faculty of IIM Jammu.
Prof. B. S. Sahay, the Director of IIM Jammu, presided over the inaugural ceremony, welcoming 29 participants from institutes across India. He highlighted the significant role of IIM Jammu as a premier management institution and stressed the importance of active engagement in the program. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a welcome address by Dr. Apurva, the Program Director at IIM Jammu, who expressed happiness at the launch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program and its role in developing academic leaders. Dr. Ateeque Shaikh, Chairperson of Executive Education & Consulting (EE&C) at IIM Jammu, reiterated the institute’s commitment to delivering high-quality executive education through such leadership programs.
Dr. Kapil Manohar Ghumte and Dr. Guangpuanang Kahmei, Program Directors at IIM Jammu, were also present, emphasizing the program’s focus on leadership, communication, skill development, and recent government initiatives. Dr. Naveen Goyal, another Program Director at IIM Jammu, proposed the vote of thanks.
