JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu inaugurated the Eleventh batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program on Monday at its permanent campus, Vedanta, MDP Centre, Jagti.
Organized under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, Ministry of Education, Government of India, this initiative reflects IIM Jammu’s commitment to academic excellence and leadership development.
This unique residential training program, scheduled from September 15 to 19, 2025, is designed to cultivate leadership capabilities among educators at various levels, creating a pool of potential leaders ready to drive generational transitions. Delivered by IIM Jammu’s faculty, the program aims to help institutions enhance their leadership potential.
Present on the occasion were Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE &C), IIM Jammu; Brigadier (Dr.) Neeraj Soni, (Retd.), Program Director, IIM Jammu; Dr. Sundar. R, Program Director, IIM Jammu.
Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, welcomed the participants and highlighted that the program, organized under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme is aimed at identifying and nurturing academic leadership.
He emphasized that the initiative is designed to equip faculty members with essential leadership skills, foster a pool of future-ready academic leaders, and build a positive institutional culture.
He noted that the program serves as a valuable platform for peer learning, collaboration, and professional networking.
He underscored that leadership is vital for driving such initiatives and reiterated that India is on its path to becoming a developed nation by 2047, with IIM Jammu contributing to this vision.
He encouraged participants to collaborate with IIM Jammu faculty on research, while also advising them to note down their expectations and reflect at the end of the program on whether they had been met.
He concluded by stressing the importance of collaboration and extended his best wishes for the success of the program.
Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, EE & C, IIM Jammu, welcomed the participants and thanked the vice chancellors and management for approving their candidature.
He mentioned that the success of the National Faculty Leadership Program (NFLP) has led to its 11th batch being hosted at IIM Jammu, an institute known for quality-based education. He emphasized that the program is aimed at nurturing academic leadership through peer and collaborative learning.
He encouraged participants to engage fully, explore the campus, and make use of facilities such as the state-of-the-art Nalanda Library. He also provided a brief overview of the Executive Education and Consultancy initiatives at IIM Jammu.
Brigadier (Dr.) Neeraj Soni, Program Director, IIM Jammu, warmly welcomed the eleventh batch, highlighting their role as catalysts for change in an era of rapid technological shifts and complex challenges.
He emphasized the importance of transformative and collaborative leadership aligned with the nation-building vision. He noted that the program will feature daily project-based workshops to nurture practical leadership skills. Concluding, he urged participants to empower one another and extended a warm welcome to all. He also provided an overview of the five-day training program.
Participants introduced themselves and shared their reflections on the program, discussing their experiences and expectations. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Sundar R, Program Director, IIM Jammu followed by the national anthem.
