JAMMU: Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, on Wednesday reviewed the security and crime scenario and over-all functioning of District Jammu with all territorial SSsP all SDPOs and SHOs of Jammu district respectively.
The disposal of cases registered during the current year and previous pendency was reviewed, discussed and instructions issued.
IGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain was accompanied by DIG JKS Range Shakti Pathak and received by SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar, and his team of officers.
Later, threadbare discussion was held in a meeting regarding disposal of pending crime cases.
While elaborating, it was mentioned that maintenance of law & order, prevention of crime, speedy investigation and disposal of cases, adequate attention to public grievances on day-to-day basis, special attention to public importance cases, strengthening Police-Public rapport are of utmost importance. The steps taken on the counter insurgency front for better security and law and order.
IGP Jammu reviewed the crime, anti-terrorist operation; the general security scenario of Jammu district was discussed necessary steps to be taken to control the crime rate.
The main focus of the meeting was to improve the quality of investigation of theft, burglary, NDPS Act and other cases. Besides, inquest proceedings, arrest of absconders and action taken under preventive measures were also reviewed.
With regard to the UAPA cases, the IGP stressed for improving the quality and techniques of investigation to ensure the conviction in UAPA cases . He directed for designating nodal officers who would be following the required process of UAPA cases to ensure that cases are submitted for judicial determination within prescribed period.
IGP while briefing the officers advised them for finalization of the pending cases/public complaints to give relief to the general public and directed I/Os for speedy disposal of cases assigned to them for conducting the investigation.
IGP Jammu stressed upon the officers and officials to work professionally in the field of investigation and other aspects of policing.
He also stressed upon the officers not to compromise with the quality of investigation and directed the officers to have effective supervision of the matters dealt by police in their jurisdiction. He stressed upon the officers to speed up the investigation of all the pending cases and reduce pendency.
The SSP Jammu Vinod Gupta gave an elaborate Power Point Presentation on the prevalent security scenario of their district and overall position of the crime and its disposal. Besides, IGP Jammu was briefed about the arrangements made for enhancing the security, law and order arrangements.
