JAMMU: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, inaugurated a newly constructed prefabricated barrack at Police Station Bishnah in Jammu District.
The facility, created exclusively for the personnel posted at the station, is aimed at providing better accommodation and rest facilities for the rank and file deployed in tough and demanding field environments.
The IGP was briefed about the structural and functional features of the barrack, which has been equipped with essential amenities such as bedding, ventilation, washrooms, and power backup to ensure a comfortable and hygienic resting space for police personnel.
IGP emphasized the importance of providing dignified living facilities to the personnel who often serve in challenging conditions.
He noted that such infrastructure not only boosts morale and operational readiness but also reflects the department’s commitment to personnel welfare. He lauded the efforts of the district police in ensuring timely completion of the project and called upon other police establishments to emulate similar standards.
He reiterated that more such barracks and welfare-oriented projects are in the pipeline across the Jammu Zone under modernization and infrastructure development initiatives.
He also conducted a motivational counselling session for the newly inducted PSIs, encouraging them to pursue specialisation in subjects of their interest.
The PSIs interacted with the IGP with enthusiasm and pledged to strive for excellence and bring laurels to the department. The IGP was accompanied by DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, SSP Jammu, SP HQ Jammu, SDPO RS Pura and DySP DAR Jammu.
