JAMMU: Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC), Jammu is taking a significant step towards environmental stewardship by launching a plantation drive within its premises. Recognizing the pivotal role of planting native trees, a plantation drive for planting summer zone apple trees was conducted in the college premises under the guidance of Dr Rakesh K. Gupta, Principal and Dean IGGDC Jammu in presence of Dr KC Sharma, Chief Consultant Surgeon, Udhampur and Dr Shreyansh Kumar Jain, State chairman, Indian Yoga Association. The event was attended by faculty members, staff and students. This was followed by the guest lectures by of Dr KC Sharma on topic “Innovations of Rural Surgeon” focusing on the research innovations in the field of medicine and surgery. The event concluded with the guest lecture by Dr Shreyansh Kumar Jain on importance of yoga and spirituality. Through the combination of environmental consciousness and medical advancements, the college aspires to make a lasting impact on both the well-being of individuals and the planet.
