ICSI inks MoU with Hr Edu Deptt

JAMMU: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), having taken cognizance of education as one of the most crucial indices of socio-economic development of Jammu & Kashmir, introduced various constructive steps for the youth of the region to groom them professionally and improve their employability.
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Higher Education Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir under the ICSI Academic Collaborations initiative.
The MoU was signed by Peerzada Mohammad Yousuf, Director Colleges and CS Ashish Garg, President, the ICSI New Delhi in the presence of Talat Parvez Rohella, Commissioner/Secretary, Higher Education Department, UT of J&K.
“The objective of the MoU is to bring together the efforts of the two institutes for imparting knowledge and honing the skills of students, academicians and professionals of both the Institutes,” , CS Ashish Garg told reporters.
Emphasising on the need for such collaborations, CS Ashish Garg, President ICSI, said “These MoU would enable members of ICSI working in companies to deliver practical session on Corporate Governance, Crisis Management in Corporate and Career Awar- eness.”
Key highlights and elements of MoU include ICSI signature award for meritorious students, ICSI study centre scheme, empanelment of faculties as trainers, ICSI Library scheme, National & International Seminars & Workshops faculty Development Programme, internship for students etc,” he said adding that this signing sets as a significant milestone towards the holistic development of students.
Talat Parvez Rohella, Commissioner/Secretary, Higher Education Department, UT of J&K said that this MoU will not only help in developing the skills but will also build character of the students.
Prof. Mohammad Yousaf Peerzada, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department appreciated ICSI for taking up this initiative that will benefit the students and members / faculty members.
Prof. Ranjeet Singh Jamwal and Dr. Ravinder Kumar Tickoo, Principal, GGM Science College, Jammu also graced the occasion and congratulated both the Institutes for this Academic Collaboration.
CS Suresh Pandey, Chairman, ICSI-NIRC, CS Palak Arora, Chairperson-ICSI-Jammu Chapter, A.K Srivastava, Director Academics, ICSI and other delegates along with participants attended the MoU signing ceremony.
