Ian, Bandeep short listed for IPL auction

JAMMU: Two Jammu and Kashmir cricketers have been short listed for the IPL auction that is scheduled to take place on 6th of February.
Ian Dev Singh, who is the second highest run getter in the country in Ranji Trophy 2015-16 season with 773 runs and Bandeep Singh who broke the record for fastest Ranji Trophy half century last year are set to go under the hammer during the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) Players’ Auction in Bengaluru on 6th February.
Ian Dev Singh, an Indian cricketer who plays predominantly as a batsman, was captain of Jammu and Kashmir cricket team in the Ranji Trophy in 2013.
Another major influence on the development of his game was former India captain Bishan Bedi under whose guidance, Dev Singh scored 406 runs at 67.66 in first-class matches in 2011-12, and earned selection for North Zone in the Duleep Trophy. For his part, Bedi described Dev Singh as ‘a very good shorter version batsman and a brilliant fielder’ who was ‘definitely ready for a break’.
Young Jammu and Kashmir right-hand batsman Bandeep Singh quietly entered the record books of Indian cricket hitting the fastest 50 in the history of Ranji Trophy achieving the landmark in only 15 balls.
As many as 351 cricketers are set to go under the hammer during the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) Players’ Auction.
The full list of players short-listed for the auctions has been released.
It includes 130 capped players, 219 uncapped players and two from Associate Nations.
Out of these, 230 are Indians and 121 foreigners. The list was trimmed down from the original list of 714 cricketers who had given their names for the IPL auctions.
