RAJOURI: Terming horticulture a biggest portal for boosting economy, Member Legislative Council and State Vice President of BJP Advocate Vibodh Gupta said that if a little hard work is done, horticulture can change the fate of the residents of Pir Panjal because it is conducive from climatic point of view.
While inaugurating awareness camp of Horticulture Department Rajouri at Keeri Doongi area, Advocate Vibodh Gupta said that people are running behind government jobs as daily wagers and need based workers however they can change their fate themselves if they come forward and get the benefits from various central government schemes on horticulture.
He said that Central Government is having several schemes for boosting horticulture but the same is beneficial for the unemployed people who can opt for this profession and boost the economy of the family and the area.
Appealing youth to make horticulture for employment, Gupta said that horticulture can open biggest portal for employment in the area of Pir Panjal for various reasons adding that horticulture is popular in Kashmir and most of the people of Kashmir have tried their luck in this sector and they are earning crores from this. He also said that the climatic condition of Kashmir is similar to that of this area so people can get benefit of the conducive climate and favourable sand type for horticulture.
On the occasion, District Horticulture Officer Mohammad Iqbal Malik and Extension Officer Rakesh Kumar Bhagat made awareness about Central Schemes like RKVY, MODH, District Plan and Annual Sub Plan and said that people must come to them to get the benefits of these schemes.
Others who accompanied MLC included District President BJP Bharat Bhushan Vaid, Atam Gupta, Sarpanch Yashpal, Sanjay Sharma, Gulsan Kumar and Pashori Sharma.
