Hold additional classes for slow learners: CEO

JAMMU: Chief Education Officer (CEO), Jammu J.K Sudan on Friday issued directions to head of the institutions for arranging additional classes in the institutions for slow learners with immediate effect in order to provide remedial teaching and to improve the academic standard.
The directions were issued during J.K Sudan’s surprised visit to various schools falling in Jammu. He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Education Officer Jammu. The schools visited by the CEO Jammu included Government High School (GHS) Bhagwati Nagar, GHS Gou Manhasan, GHS Sandwan, GGHS Satrayan, GHS Badyal Qazian, GHS Trewa, Government Boys HS Arnia, HSS Gou Manhasa, HSS Sai, GHSS Arnia GHSS Biaspur, Middle School (MS) Bhadrore, MS Gou Manhasa, MS Munshi Chak, MS Satrayan, Primary School Pouni Chak, PS Puran Di Kothey, PS Bhagat Pur, PS Tangali and PS Camp Treva.
During the visit, it was observed that almost all schools were well maintained and subject teachers were teaching to the students as per the time table of the institution. The CEO also interacted with students of different classes and observed that overall response of the students was satisfactory.
Direction were given to the head of the institutions that in view of changing environment and its serious consequences it is the need of the hour to develop love and affection in the hearts of the students towards environment and to do so programmes of plantation must be organised in institution. It was stressed upon the head of the institutions that education is not restricted within the four walls of class rooms and hence in the pursuit for excellence and making the children learn through personal experience, the schools should organize field trips to historical places in and around Jammu.
