JAMMU: In a heartwarming tribute to the tireless efforts of medical professionals, BiG FM 92.7 on Friday organised a special event in Jammu to honour outstanding doctors from the region. Among the recipients, Dr. Ratnakar Sharma HOD Surgery GMC Jammu was conferred with the prestigious “Best Doctor Award” in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the field of surgery and patient care.
Dr. Ratnakar Sharma currently serves as Professor and Head of the Postgraduate Department of Surgery at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu. Dr. Sharma has emerged as a prominent and respected figure in Jammu’s medical community.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh awarded him with this honour today at Taj Vivanta hotel in a ceremony organsied by BiG FM 92.7. An alumnus of GMC Jammu, Dr. Sharma completed his Master of Surgery (MS) before pursuing super-specialisation in MCh Plastic Surgery from the prestigious JJ Hospital in Mumbai. His academic journey and surgical expertise have made him one of the most sought-after doctors in the region.
Joining GMC Jammu as a Lecturer in 2008, Dr. Sharma steadily rose through the ranks due to his exceptional clinical skills, dedication to patients, and passion for teaching. He is widely admired by his colleagues and students for his innovative techniques in both simple and complex surgical procedures. As an active member of the Association of Surgeons of India, he remains engaged in academic and professional development, contributing regularly to conferences and workshops.
