Hiranagar Hurricanes wins opening tie in JHPVL Phase-II

JAMMU: Indian Army after the successful conduct of the phase-one of the Jagruk Hindustani Premier Volleyball League, started the phase-two at Samba in presence of Commander, Samba Brigade, Brig R.S Rana, Dr D.K Manyal, MLA Samba and Joginder Singh, SSP Samba.
“A total of eight best teams of the 64 teams who participated in Phase-I have been selected to compete in Phase-II,” Defence Spokesperson Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
The eight teams, he added, have been divided into two pools with Pool A having Samba Daredevils, Hiranagar Hurricanes, R S Pura Tigers and Damana Sunrisers and Pool B having Rajbagh Warriors, Kathua Janbaaz, BD Bari Jaguars and Jammu Kings.
The best two teams from each Pool will make it to the semifinals and the winners of which will feature during the final scheduled on 19th May, he informed.
During the inauguration ceremony, the Commander, Samba Brigade interacted with all the teams and complimented them on reaching till this stage and wished them good luck for the rest of the Tournament.
The first match was played between Samba Daredevils and Hiranagar Hurricanes which was won by Hiranagar Hurricanes in three hard fought sets.
It is pertinent to mention here that the final is scheduled to be played on 19th May at the Army Stadium Samba.
