RAJOURI: Himalayan College Rajouri on Monday organised a symposium on ‘Truth and Non violence’ in the college wherein a large number of students and teachers participated.
About ten speakers from amongst the students deliberated their views on the subject and stressed upon the importance of these values for the construction of a healthy society. The speakers also highlighted that the youth seriously need to practise these Gandhian values in their individual lives.
“It is only through practice of such values that we can handle the differences and conflicts at family, the society, the nation and above all the global level,” they asked.
Tolerance was projected as the real mantra for the attainment of peace at both micro and macro levels in human society, they added.
The speakers who were awarded on the occasion included Nidhi Verma, Tanveer Ahmed, Sobia lone, Waqar Ahmed, Alisha and Raees Ahmed.
The programme was presided over by Prof Shareef Chouhan, Principal of the College whereas Tanveer Ahmed compered the proceedings and vote of thanks was presented by Mehran Shah.
