RAJOURI: Security forces on Saturday recovered cache of arms and ammunition including hand grenades and rifles from a hideout in Rajouri District.
“A joint team of Rashriya Rifles and Police today recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and other warlike stores from a hideout,” defence spokesman here said.
He said that acting on a tip off about a cache of weapons and war like stores in Kalakote area of the Jammu-Reasi-Rajouri, the team launched search in the area.
“Methodical search of the area, complemented by use of trained sniffer dog and metal detectors led to major recovery of weapons and ammunition from the forested area in the proximity of Sadah village in KalaKote tehsil,” he added.
The recovery included one AK-47 Rifle, one AK-56 Rifle, one Chinese Pistol, two RPG rounds, five Hand Grenades, two Magazines and 639 Rounds of Ammunition.
“This is the second recovery by Army in two days. These recoveries will act as a major blow and will prevent use of these weapons for terrorist activities in future,” said the spokesman.
