Dear Editor,
Handwara is a classic story of Kashmir where there are two versions of a hidden story .Putting the video on social media of a teenager girl justifies one version and what about the other version? Everyone judges as per his or her own prejudices and preferences .But with both stories there is always an untold realistic story of sadness and complete bizarre.Who ever is responsible has a conscience which will speak some day in front of someone where one cannot hide the reality or ones deeds.
As humans, can we justify the killings of civilians no matter how true or false is the molestation story? Can we ever justify the blood whether the victims are from any side? This is a barbaric and unacceptable act on the part of army. There are provoking elements but as army you can’t just go out and kill civilians and I feel army is trained to handle such provocation. If there was law and order problem what was the local JKP doing. When they can handle NIT students, can’t they control the unruly mob. A single video can’t ever justify the killings of civilians. The molestation story can be concocted but the killings are real. The back sheep’s in the army should be condemned and punished severely to set an example otherwise we have no right to oppose terrorism .Heads should hang in shame.
