JAMMU: Justice Bansi Lal Bhat of J and K High Court Jammu Wing on Thursday issued notice to Home Secretary J and K, DGP, ADGP Security and Others returnable within two weeks and in the meanwhile, directed DGP and ADG Security to restore two PSOs withdrawn from the security of Shakeela Begum, sister of Ghulam Nabi Azad (Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former CM J and K) and directed that compliance in this regard shall be filed within one week.
The directions came in response to a petition filed by Shakeela Begum, sister of Ghulam Nabi Azad (leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha and former CM J and K) seeking direction to respondents for restoring her security cover in shape of PSOs which has been withdrawn on 20th April, 2015.
The petitioner has submitted that she is younger sister of Ghulam Nabi Azad and all the family members of G.N Azad including the petitioner are facing threat to their lives as his brother is in active politics for the last more than three decades and he has been playing a pro-active role in the restoration of peace and normalcy in turbulent state of J and K.
In the petition it has been submitted that with the withdrawal of security cover, the petitioner and her family members have been exposed to anti-nationals who are inimical towards them being blood relations of Ghulam Nabi Azad. Advocate S.S Ahmed appeared for the petitioner. JNF
