HC directives in Sikh youth’s killing in police firing

JAMMU: In a much publicized riots at Satwari in which one person Jasjit Singh died, Justice BS Walia of J&K High Court Jammu Wing after hearing Sr. Adv Sunil Sethi appearing for the petitioners directed SIT to record the statements of witnesses through the concerned police station and AAG should also on the next date of hearing produce the record to show the dates for the preceding one year on which attempts were made to record the statements of witnesses and what action was taken in case of non-availability of concerned eye witnesses.
A petition was earlier filed by SS Wazir & ors in the state High Court seeking CBI probe and also seeking ex-gratia relief of Rs 25 lakh to the family of the deceased Jasjit Singh.
