JAMMU: Asian junior silver medallist in 2012, Satinder of Haryana clinched the VII Annual Battal Ballian Kesari Dangal defeating Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab in the main bout that took place at Battal in district Udhampur.
Minister of State for Finance, Pawan Kumar Gupta was Chief Guest, who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runners-up wrestlers.
Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and president of the State Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided. The DySP Gourav Mahajan, SHO Udhampur, Arjun Singh Chib and Colonel Balwant Singh were Guests of Honour.
This Dangal was organised by Pir Baba Dangal Committee Battal Ballian in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the supervision of Shiv Kumar Sharma and president of the Dangal Committee, Deep Singh.
In all, 60 bouts were played in this day-long Dangal. Winner of the title bout, Satinder was awarded with Rs 41,000 cash prize while Abdul Gani presented with Rs 30,000 cash prize.
Members and technical officials who helped for conduct of this dangal included Deep Singh (Pinka), Sukhdev Singh, Dhiyan Singh, Master Munna Khan, Munshi Ram sharma, Panch Puran Chand Sharma, Sham Singh, Gulshad Master, Pankaj Singh, Jagdev Singh, Sikander Singh, Vijay Singh (Biju), Mohd. Fareed, Om Parkash Verma, Rajinder Kumar, Tulinder Kumar, Raj Singh and Murli Dhar (Munna).
Others Results : Chinni of Banaras (UP) beat Asraf of Mallerkotla (Punjab), Kalu of Bishnah beat Sadiq Ali of Bishnah, Tinku of Rohtak beat Zaker of Sarore, Dinu of Kathua beat Raman kumar of Chandigarh, Bobari of Sarore beat Sunny of Rohtak, Amir Khan of Bajrangi Akhara beat Muskeen of Ramnagar, Sheru of Ghazibad beat Billu of Kot Bhawal, Babba of Kot Bhawal beat Tinku of Rohtak, Dillar Khan of J&K Police beat Gopal Sharma of Jindrah, Akram of Bajrangi Akhara beat Babu Deen of Ramnagar.
