Kolkata, Oct 5 (PTI) Having started the process for the eastern unit of his ‘Whistling Woods International’ film institute, Bollywood’s dream merchant Subhas Ghai says he was happy to step in the city of Ritwik Ghatak.
“Had been dreaming to set up footprint in Bengal, Kolkata. The city of Ghatak and Satyajit Ray, both of whose films never fail to fascinate me,” Ghai, who had launched Kolkata girl Misti in his last film Kanchi, said.
Coming to Whistling Woods, the maker of Khalnayak and Pardes, besides string of other movies, it was meant for all those youngsters who are inspired by the media and entertainment industry or are interested to make a career in the industry.
“The best way to inspire would be to place them before role models from the industry,” and he will do that once the instituten came into being, Ghai said.
“We have already over 1000 alumni working successfully in the film and media industry at filmcity Goregaon.We would love to repeat the success story in the land of creative people,” Ghai said.
