JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu finalised the arrangements being made for the celebration of Prakash Utsav (birthday of Guru Gobind Singh Ji) and Nagar Kirtan on the occasion of Gurupurab on 7th January, 2015 in a meeting convened here on Wednesday.
Divisional Commissioner was apprised regarding preparations made by the concerned departments for the procession, programmes to be held at the Gurdwaras and the main function which will be organized at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Chand Nagar.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, A.K Sahu, DIG Shakeel Ahmed Beig, senior officers of police and civil administration besides representatives of Sikh organisations were present in the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that the Nagar Kirtan would be taken out on 5th January and adequate security arrangements and Traffic management would be ensured for smooth flow of traffic on the procession routes. Health Department has been directed to ensure adequate provision of medicare facilities
Jammu Municipal Corporation was asked to ensure mobile toilet vans, dust bins and sanitation of the procession route. PHE and PDD departments would ensure adequate supply of drinking water and uninterrupted power supply during the day.
Divisional Commissioner emphasised on maintaining coordination for smooth conduct of the festival. He urged the religious organizations to coordinate with the administration so as to celebrate the festival with traditional fervor and zeal.
