Gurpurab celebrated with full religious fervour

JAMMU: Gurpurab was celebrated on Thursday with full religious fervor and enthusiasm across the city.
The devotees, including women and children, visited various Gurudwaras across the city and paid their obeisance seeking blessings from Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
The Gurudwaras were decorated for Gurpurab celebrations where devotees started visiting right from early morning to pay their obeisance.
The main function was held at Yadgar Sri Guru Nanak Dev Gurdwara, Gumat, where heavy rush of devotees was witnessed. The administration had also made elaborate security arrangements for peaceful celebrations.
The religious preachers, including Ragis, who came from different parts of the UT and outside, delivered religious sermons and teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and urged the people to follow the path as shown by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. They also highlighted the sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Guru ka Langar was also served among the devotees.
The stage of Samagam was conducted by the General Secretary of District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu. Vote of thanks was presented by the President of the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu S. Ranjit Singh Tohra. S. Balvinder Singh Vice President extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and said that Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj’s preaching has universal relevance and acceptance.
Besides political personalities who were present there were Mayor JMC Rajinder Sharma, Rattan Lal Gupta, Abdul Gani Malik & Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Dr Harbaksh Singh DDC member Tral, other members of DGPC Jammu including S Ranvir Singh Jt Secretary, S Jagpal Singh Cashier, S Gurmeet Singh & Harjit Singh Incharge Dharam Parchar DGPC, S Tejinder Singh, S Avtar Singh were also present.
At Srinagar, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad y paid visit to Gurudwara Chhati Padshahi in Rainawari area and extended warm greetings to the members of Sikh community on the auspicious occasion of Prakash Purab marking 357th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner accompanied by senior functionaries of Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee took round of the Gurudwara and paid obeisance to the Guru Granth Sahib.
The Gurudwara authorities expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and conveyed their gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner in this regard.
