KATHUA: Subash Chander Gupta President District Congress Committee Kathua and Former MLC visited migrants camps at Nonath, Narshing Dham Ghagwal, Middle School Chann Khatrian, Kootah, Various Schools at Hiranagar, Middle School Ganyal, Marheen, Haria Chak and Kana Chak established by the administration for the border migrants who have migrated due to the unprovoked firing by Pakistan in which two ladies of the same family Sukhantla Devi and Poli Devi of village Chalarian Tehsil and district Samba got killed.
Gupta asked the civil administration and government to provide all sort of help to the people in this hour of need.
Condemning Pakistan for targeting the innocent villagers including women and children and their cattle, Gupta said, “It is abominable and inhumane on the part of Pakistan to target civilians, more so on the eve of Eid and this deserved to be condemned and deprecated unequivocally and strongly”.
Gupta said that heavy fire and shelling that is being witnessed recently has been witnessed during war times and that Pakistani forces is severely testing our patience. “Two women got killed and scores have been left seriously injured in the last two days in Hiranagar Assembly Constituency due to the Pakistani firing and shelling and that it is imperative for Government of India to view this grave situation with the earnestness it deserves and must ensure civilians are not targeted,” he said.
Subash Chander Gupta asked the government to provide five Marlas of land to each families at safer location as proposed by the UPA Government , so that in case of any tension or disturbance on the border, they can shift their families. Gupta interacted with number of people including women and elderly lot, who have been forced to migrate to safer areas and are camping in school buildings.
