Gupta for resolving political dimensions of Kashmir issue

JAMMU: Provincial Unit of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Saturday expressed grave concern over sufferings of the people in the Valley due to prolonged disturbed situation that has caused colossal loss of human lives and injuries to thousands.
“While PDP-BJP dispensation is solely responsible for mishandling the situation, there is need for addressing the political dimensions of the Kashmir imbroglio for lasting peace in the region”, State Vice President Rattan Lal Gupta said while addressing the meeting of State level and provincial office bearers of the party at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this morning.
Gupta sought immediate end to use of lethal weapons, saying these have maimed young people apart from causing fatal injuries.
He expressed surprise over continued use of pellet guns despite assurances held out by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh during his two visits to Srinagar.
He hoped that the proposed visit of All Party Delegation will help in appreciating the gravity of the situation and taking all necessary steps aimed at heralding peace and normalcy in the Valley. Former Minister and State Vice President, Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari said that the happenings in the Valley have impacted the entire State which is discernible by the fact that there is no semblance of government anywhere, leading sufferings to the people on all fronts.
The meeting discussed and finalised the arrangements to observe Death Anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah on 8th September, across the Jammu region at district and block levels. The main function to commemorate the death anniversary of Baba-e-Quom will be held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Master Noor Hussain MLC, Th. Kashmir Singh Ex-MLC, State Vice President, Rachpal Singh Former Minister Central Sec, Babu Rampal Former Minister Ex-MLC, Mr Brij Mohan Sharma Ex- MLC, Qazi Jalal Ud din Ex- MLA , Satpal Lokhotra Ex- MLA, Bimla Luthra Ex-MLA, Depinder Kour Ex-MLC and others.
