Greens Forest XI defeats RCC Srinagar by seven wickets

SRINAGAR: Greens Forest XI defeated RCC Srinagar by seven wickets in the ongoing Kashmir Cup T20 tournament, played here on Sunday.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, RCC made a total of 117 for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted inning of 20 overs.
RCC started shaky and lost the first wicket on the very first delivery of the match. They were 6 for 2 in two overs but Kafeel and Zahoor added 56 to the total before Zahoor was adjudged leg before wicket on 27. Kafeel with 33 and unbeaten 24 by Umar helped RCC to post a total of 117 on the board.
In reply, Green Forests XI, batted superb and made 121/3 in 16.1 overs. Left-handed batsman, Nayeem played an unbeaten brisk inning of 65 runs in 40 balls with 10 fours and a six. He was awarded Man of the Match. Openers Shahid and Shakeel gave a promising start to Greens XI by scoring 11 and 16 respectively.
Aslam at number 3 didn’t last longer and went back on just four runs, but then Nayeem and Tashir played all around to take their side home in just 16.1 overs. Tashir also remained not out till the end on 22 with three boundaries.
