SRINAGAR: Green Valley emerged overall champion in the two-day District Srinagar Rugby 7’s Championship, organised Srinagar Rugby Association under the aegis of J and K Rugby Association, at Gindun Sports Centre, here on Saturday. Manager State Sports Council, Riyaz Ahmad Khan was Chief Guest, who gave away the title trophies as also other individual prizes. The (Final) Results: Sub Junior Girls: Army Goodwill School, Ist and district Pulwama, 2nd. Sub-Junior Boys: HMT Lone Star Rugby Club, Ist and Green Valley Institute, 2nd. Under-14 Boys: Thunder Bolts Rugby Club, Ist and Green Valley Institute, 2nd. Junior Boys: Green Valley Institute, Ist and HMT Little Club, 2nd. Junior Girls: Green Valley, Ist; Thunder Bolts, 2nd and Raj Bagh Tigress, 3rd. Youth Boys: Bisons Rugby Club, Ist; Shaheed Gowhar Club, 2nd and Green Valley, 3rd. Meanwhile, as per the organisers, the Ninth State Championship shall take place here from tomorrow with 12 district units already confirmed the participation. Among others guests present were Principal, Irfan Aziz and General Secretary J and K Rugby Association.
