Greater Kailash Murder Case: Another absconder arrested from Samba

JAMMU: Acting swiftly on a tip-off, Jammu police conducted a raid and arrested absconder Sachin Patiyal alias Sanju, resident of Samba, who was involved in the land dispute scuffle leading to murder at Greater Kailash.
The accused Sachin Patiyal was evading arrest since May 1. His car (Baleno) has also been seized.
It is important to note that role of accused Sachin Patiyal is significant link behind the entire scuffle. His arrest is a major achievement of Jammu Police as far as the Investigation of the case is concerned, said Jammu SSP Vinod Kumar.
Moreover, one Revenue officer has also been deputed to assist the SIT in investigation.
Jammu Police is steadfast in its mission to restore confidence of the masses after the dastardly incident, added SSP Vinod Kumar.
The incident occurred on May 1, when Avtar Singh (40), son of Balbir Singh, died after being hit on the head with an iron rod during a scuffle between two groups – both claimed a piece of land in Greater Kailash locality.
On May 4, the court had granted police remand of seven persons, including ex-SSP Sheikh Mehmood, Purushottam Singh alias Nikka, Ravinder Kumar Gupta alias Gola Shah, his son in the Greater Kailash murder case. Two police officials were also suspended in connection with the murder and a departmental inquiry was ordered.
